Isa Khan Tomb, New Delhi - Hostorical Tomb Pictures from NCR
Another photo walk with DPEG after a gap of 1 month. However it was pretty hot on this day as it is taken in the month of June. This is the morning time shots when we were able to see the rising sun behind the long palm trees.
Small Introduction of the Tomb
Isa Khan Niyazi was a noble in the court of Sher Shah Suri. Isa Khan Tomb Enclosure is located just outside the Humayun’s Tomb. The Enclosure has his tomb and a mosque, which were built in 1547-48, during his lifetime. Built by Isa Khan in 1547-48, the tomb is located in the center of an octagonal garden enclosure. Ornamented with glazed tiles, the red sandstone tomb has a roof surmounted by a domed chhatri, and is a good example of the Lodi style of architecture.
Enjoy the Pictures :)
